I’m a writer, I always have been.
I’m creative and work in the world of creativity, ideas and creation.
A few years ago I made a resolution to write in a personal journal every day for a full year. While I wasn’t able to write 365 entries I did write 42 entries that year. And since then I have kept writing as much as possible.
The other day I was reading a book that was inspiring and powerful (post to come later) and I realized I wanted to discuss it with someone, anyone, the world. But how? That’s what gave me the idea to start this blog. It may not go anywhere but “An Elysian Mind” is a place for me to write and share, and if I’m lucky others might join in!
When I thought more about a blog, ideas came to me: what it should be called, how it could look and what I would write about. The more the ideas came, the more I realized I needed to start this new project. I actually started this blog a year ago on tumblr, thinking that would be the best platform to share my words, but I really didn’t stick with it more than a couple of months. Almost a year later, I’m at it again, with a new blog here on WordPress.
At the time I made it my goal to have a new post for my readers every day for a year. And I thought: ‘yes I made that promise to myself in the past and it didn’t completely work out, but maybe here I can be held accountable – with an audience waiting on me’. Turns out, I didn’t hold up to it.
But now I’m setting a new goal: to release new posts once a week. Please “follow me” for a direct email notification when I share new articles. I’m new at this blogging thing and still trying to figure out my subject matter and voice.
Things you can expect from this blog:
- Personal stories
- Day/Week recaps
- General life musings
- Reviews (on all kinds of things: TV, movies, books, beauty products, etc.)
And if you have any suggestions of what you would like to see, let me know!
I want this to be a place for me to be able to share (both when I want and need to) but I also want this to be about you and to get others involved and join in on conversations and to help others.
I look forward to what this turns into.
Until Next Time,
